“Enslaved: Odyssey to the West” fails to reach 500k sold copies worldwide. The question is why? It’s a new game, a new story, good developers (Ninja Theory)…and still why the public didn’t buy it so much till now. The guys from destructoid.com (love their site) make a comparation between Enslaved, who sold 460 k copies, and Kane and Linch, who sold 1 mil copies and it’s a far more lame game, and they wonder themselves, why so much bad taste in choosing games amongst gamers? I could have a answer for this…the lack of publicity for Enslaved. There are a lot of gamers here in Europe that still don’t have a clue that Enslaved is released and available to buy…and if they see it on the shelf they don’t buy it because they didn’t hear anything about it. I honestly heard about Enslaved from my psn when i downloaded the demo and played it…but from nowhere else..and after i played the demo (which i really liked ) i went to my laptop to do some research about this game…a release date, a review… I played the demo like one month ago and didn’t even knew that the game was already available on the market…so yes..for me this is the reason…lack of publicity. When you have a game that comes with a new story, it’s not a remake or a sequel, even if the game is remarkable and have the potential of making history in the gaming industry, it won’t sell itself if it doesn’t have some publicity in the media.
